anthro-inspired quartz knobs.

anthropologie carries these fabulous crowned quartz knobs and the second i saw them i was determined to have them somewhere in our house, but at $28/each i knew i’d be making my own to get the same look.

i purchased a koppang 3-drawer chest from ikea (since discontinued, but similar to hemnes chest of drawers) for our dinette area to add extra storage and to de-clutter our kitchen counters by moving my espresso machine. for the price of one quartz knob at anthropolgie i made 6 for the chest and now have an adorable espresso bar. i could not be happier with how they turned out and might just like them better than the ones from anthropologie!

i purchased 6 white quartz necklace pendants off etsy for $4.40/each, then purchased 6 brass drawer knob bases for $0.59 at a hardware store. i used a pliers to pull the pendant hook off and glued the based on the back of the quartz with epoxy. after a day of drying, i attached my new anthropologie-inspired drawer knobs with screws i had to the drawers and started styling my espresso bar. this project was so easy!

$4 laundry room decor.

i made the cutest piece of decor for our laundry room and it was just $4! quick, easy and you may already have the supplies.

we’re in the process of planning an overhaul on our construction-grade, small and very white laundry room. while browsing tile and wallpaper selections, i made the choice to forgo cabinets and do open shelving because our laundry room already has a large closet for storage. the open shelving will be for decor, not function because i won’t be able to reach anything on them but what to display on the shelves? here’s one project.

what you’ll need:

  • glass jar or canister, with or without lid
  • package of clothes pins

i got the perfect glass canister with a lid at goodwill for $1.99 and a pack of clothes pins at target for $1.79. i bet the dollar store might even have a pack of clothes pins cheaper.

simply empty the pack of clothes pins into the canister or jar and that’s it, no tutorial needed.

look for less: pair of tufted accent chairs.

Tufted wayfair side chair

i love looking on wayfair.com, but my budget doesn’t let me splurge on something just because i like it so, i’m always looking for a look for less.

i found these beautiful armless tufted linen side chairs last year that i knew would be perfect accent chairs in our sunroom, but the price for two on wayfair was way out of my budget. i then found an identical accent chair on target.com which was about 40% less, though still pricier than i wanted to spend for two.

never pay retail for anything, just be patient.

this past cyber monday in november i jumped on them. the trick to the perfect look for less is to wait until an item goes on sale AND there’s a coupon code available on top of the sale price – that’s when you’ll get the best possible steal.

target reg. price: $199 x 2 = $398 + shipping, handling & tax.
TOTAL reg. price $467.89 or $234/each.

what i paid: on sale for $120 x 2 = $240, 15% off coupon + 5% off with REDcard – $46.20, free shipping & handling with REDcard – $48.00, plus tax.
TOTAL sale price $206.89 or $103/each.

Tufted accent chairs target

by searching for a similar chair to the original wayfair one, i saved 70% and by just waiting for the right sale at target, i saved over 50% off their regular price. not only does my husband appreciate those savings, but it gives me more money to spend on the rest of the sunroom!
